ANNOUNCEMENT: DDSs ACCOUNTS ANALYSIS. A THREAD.

- Since we tweeted about empowering the community to report DDS extremists to embassies, employers, place of work, colleges, professional affiliations, and we used a relentless account as an example, we have observed...

...a 345% increase of unique DDS extremists attack on this account. We based our figures from the frequency of retweets, comments, and engagements. This is an unusual activity and we took a deeper look.

- For two days, we have block 3,306 accounts.

-we did a holistic approach blocking these accounts. We created a web app script and integrated it with Twitter's public API and used an open source cloud service. Unfortunately we cannot share the script because of security risk but we hid it somewhere in the github community

- we've spent hours on Tableau visualizing our data but it turned out our infographic exposes our methodologies. Which we will just explain to you all our findings as simple as possible.

- We first ran our script up to three level deep of connections to confirmed DDS extremists. So DDS-1 has Y number of followers and X number of following. We mapped X and Y of their followers and following and so on. Our data set turned out more than 60,000 results after...

...11 hours of data crunching. We don't have the ability to scrub more than 60k accounts and verifying and cross referencing. Ginagawa lang namin ito kapag tumatae kame so no, this is too much. So we set limit our connections to one level deep only.

- We found out that 81% of the DDS extremists that attacked us were created in March-April this year. 18% of which were created in May, and lastly 1% of the accounts were genuine accounts created more than a year ago.

- So let's define jargon muna,at least by OUR definition. "Troll" means someone who attacks us.A troll for us is ran/operated by a real person of course and only use a fake photo or fake name. "Real accounts" are DDS extremists that use their real life identities here on Twitter.

- Ok so let's go back sa 1% real DDS extremists accounts na nahanap namin. It's interesting because their connections are like a mesh, they all follow each other, and some of them follow their troll accounts.
- Once we have identified obvious connections, we looked at the pattern

...and the real accounts relative to the trolls. It's a human behavior that you will somehow project your personality to your dummy. And a lot of the trolls that we have discovered have same similar profile to real accounts and can be easily identified as...

..."Ah si XYZ ang may hawal ng troll cells na ito and si ABC naman dito sa segment na ito." We can easily see sa heat map based on the time stamps and choice of words ng mga tweets and comments ng mga DDS subjects namin.

- Based din sa mga vocabulary used during their rampage, DDS extremists used terms familiar in the medical field. Some terms were easy to spot if you are practicing law. So we can say that the operators of these trolls are practicing doctors, lawyers, media practitioners, and PR.

- Then we saw something odd sa data, trolls and real accounts were following male sex workers. We have nothing against it, don't get us wrong, but we are looking at data here and we are sharing it with you.

- take this account for example. A lot of them are following this account. Now we will not tell kung sino-sino ang mga naka follow diyan para hindi makita ng mga DDS extremists ang system namin how we investigate. Just browse following and followers

- the trolls and real accounts that we find in every NSFW account, we extrapolated the accounts and they also share home made gay porn, from Makati, to Quezon City, to Cebu. They have this network that they keep on exchanging materials on a daily basis. Ok moving on.

- Ok so next. The China support. MORE THAN A HUNDRED TROLLS na Filipino accounts ah, kasi syempre tagalog mga posts nila and comments, naka follow sa mga accounts na ito, notice the differences and similarities:

- So we were asking ourselves, though wala naman masama mag-follow sa isang account na Chinese, pero don't you think it's odd? Mga accounts na umaatake sa amin AND naka follow sa dalawang Chinese tweeter accounts? I mean, hindi naman kame bobo masyado, pero you know.

- Sa mga nagme-message sa amin, hindi ito SWOT analysis at parang executive summary habang tumatae kame, at pleaseee, mas smart kame dun sa taong pinagtatanggol ng mga DDS na CPA daw pero hindi alam kung ano yung discounted cash flow. Ok, next findings.

- We also discovered that there are so many DDS accounts that use the same photos. We will only post two accounts para hindi makita ng mga DDS yung mga na-monitor namin:

- Ok next. We took some sample photos from the DDS profiles that we were examining. Now, we thought yeah, real accounts ito hindi troll. So we did a reverse image search and lo and behold! DDS trolls are using photos from Thailand and Vietnam FB users!

- Unfortunately we cannot post the photos but we have already sent messages to the victims. It makes sense now na why some DDS trolls look so legit dahil may photos and all, mukhang Filipino, background ng bahay, living room, bedroom, the whole lot, looks so Filipino.

- aba eh yun naman pala sa kalapit na bansa pala natin ninanakaw yung mga photos. Which is really safe kasi no one would know na kung sino talaga yung DDS na 'yun. Ok so next findings.

- a lot of DDS trolls and real accounts have alphanumeric usernames. We tried to decipher kung para saan yung mga numerals, part ba ng password, payroll code, telephone numbers, bdays, bilang ng bulbol, we don't know. So we gave up sa part na yan. These are the photos:

- Eto very obvious, yung magkapatis na "Utzurrum" na naka-link lahat kina Reyna Elena et al. Yung mesh connection ng "Utzurrum" was very interesting lahat ng connections that we needed 64Gb of RAM para tumakbo yung script namin ng mabilis. Ok next.
