I can’t catch my breath.

I am the proud mother of a black man, the proud wife of a black man, the proud daughter of a black man and I cannot count the number of times I have held my breath for them because they are black men in America.
Growing up in the South, I experienced similar injustices to what we are seeing today. When I came home with tears in my eyes, my father always said, "take a deep breath. With a lot of work, you will have a chance to part of the solution."
My heart breaks for the Floyd family and for every other mother, like me, that holds her breath when her son leaves the house.

I feel like Sisyphus panting as he pushes the boulder up the hill - We’ve been here before. By all measures, we’ll be here again unless WE ALL purposefully commit to knowing and understanding each other.
Wear your mask. Continue to run this marathon. If you feel like you can't catch your breath, know that I am right there with you.
