okay i love lzzy but her tweets about telling us we shouldnt be violent and that race is a petty thing from the past and quoting john lennon is coming from a place of privilege and shes very ill informed on the whole situation. what& #39;s going on is serious and we MUST fight back.
i know she means no ill intent but she has to know what& #39;s going on beyond the riots and protest and why we& #39;re doing it in the first place. we can& #39;t just fight violent racist cops with the power of love and words, they& #39;ll just keep killing.
racism is very much alive in the present. by saying it& #39;s in the past and it& #39;s petty is ignoring what& #39;s going on right now and letting white supremacy continuing. again, i love lz, but she needs to know that what shes saying isn& #39;t helping.

a lot of these protests started out peaceful until cops got involved. they blended in with the protesters and started burning shit and acting violent so the ones in uniform would have a reason to blame protesters and start attacking. there is no bright side to this situation.
