Was gassed in the face multiple times.

For hours.

Only the cops cause violence.
Cops only cause violence.

Bailing out a buddy they're lying threw a milk jug rn bbl
I have never experienced anything like the raw cold brutality the cops forced on hundreds of us peacefully protesting.

The police in Fort Wayne, Indiana attacked their own city, their own people today.
We peacefully held 2 one-way blocks for 20 minutes, safely diverting traffic.

Then they showed up in riot gear, batons out.

I can't begin to tell you how many tear gas cartridges they fired indiscriminately downtown FOR HOURS.
Idk what time that was. It was dark.

They shot hella gas cartridges, including through a courthouse window.

People eating at the bougie Hoppy Gnome were trapped inside for hours watching while we all kept pouring water in our faces.

Afaik no one from inside tried to help.
After they pushed us from the courthouse square, we had nowhere inside our home, our own city to to safely.

Windows were getting smashed, it was chaos.

I ended up blocks away, and made my way back to the city square.

It was all still the same.
They gassed us over and over and over.

For what.

Because we asked them to stop killing black people.

Their answer was to hurt us.

Because they really need to kill black people.
My friend is a street medic.

They threw him down so hard he couldn't speak. They say he threw a milk jug.

He absolutely fucking did not.
Lockup said protester arrests will take a long while to process & to call at 1 to see what he was charged with & figure out bail.

I'm home for now but the city is a war zone right now.

Nowhere in downtown Fort Wayne is safe because of the police.
Our pal the sheriff rolled up. I introduced myself & asked why peaceful protesters are being attacked. This is apparently on the news.

He couldn't answer bc the cops shot a gas canisters at his Yukon so he had to roll out real fast.

Tear gas FUCKING HURTS.
The police cannot decide to suspend the Constitution and do violence on us.

We cannot keep letting them treat us, the people who pay their salaries, like we are enemy combatants.
No name plates. Faces fully covered.

The city's finest.
This is America.
Over and over they shot tear gas behind us, then marched on us, batons out.
Step.
"MOVE."
Step.
"MOVE."
*pop*
*hiss*

We had nowhere to go.
I had to run through my own city's streets tonight and hide in parking garages to not get hit directly with a tear gas canister they just kept shooting wildly at anyone who happened to be downtown.

How can we keep letting them treat us like this?

How?
I'm a 40-year-old white woman who's never had more than a speeding ticket & was deliberately & physically hurt repeatedly by the police a LOT.

They extra love killing black & brown people but when it comes to inflicting violence they'll take whoever they can get.

No one is safe
Also let's talk tear gas + a relaxing shower

Turn out! It hurts all over again and you can't get it off your skin or hair!

Why give them this? It's awful! It's scary & painful to have flaming cans shot at your body by cops!

Why give them guns? Why give them tanks?
Still no word on my buddy.

Worrying he's on a rough ride.

It was an absolute railroad job, cops all "oh yeah, he did it, he threw that milk jug all right."

He's mouthy & visible for sure. And brave.

The cops put millions of us through this every single day, everywhere.
Idk why he hasn't been booked by now.

They threw him down at, idk 10:30?

I had just gotten done apparently being on FOX 55, so whenever that timestamp is. The jail is 2 blocks from where we were.

He's white, fwiw. But the cops want blood. They were salivating all night.
We need to do everything in our collective power to make it be socialism.

They want barbarism. It's all they want.
And judging by livestream comments I've seen, way too many people here where I live, where you live, where we all live?

They're okay with barbarism, too.

We can't let barbarism win.
The loudest boldest bravest black and white and brown people in my city turned out today for justice.

They gassed us. Over and over.

During a killer respiratory virus.

They want everyone who was there today dead.

They want us dead.
Every new video, every new stream, I watch myself and my friends and my neighbors being brutalized by the police.

They're doing war on us whether we fight back or not. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=251886989565637&id=168628206619310
This all we doing.

They didn't even TELL us to leave the street until after dark. Just came out spraying.
Found the stream where I'm trying to ask the sheriff why they're firing on us, FWPD popped a canister in front of his truck, the feed freezes, then comes back to me getting gassed.

It happened so many times. They hurt us so many times. For nothing.

#FortWayneProtest
I don't know what being in a war feels like.

I do know now what it feels like to run for your life.
Finally found out my medic friend's status. He's being held without bond until Monday on a disorderly conduct rap.
A broken window is not violence.
Yelling at the cops is not violence.
Standing in the street is not violence.
Blocking traffic is not violence.

Firing flaming tear gas canisters at our bodies over and over and over is violence.
