experienced organizers need to be stepping up right now to lead these actions. too many organizational novices are planning actions with no idea of what it takes to manage a rally of 1,000 people and minimize arrests under the current conditions
your good intentions and your facebook page are absolutely not enough right now, i'm sorry. lives are at stake. anybody can be an organizer and lead a protest, but these things take time to learn
you do actually need an organization. i've seen random white people in multiple major cities attempting to call protests with no organization backing. this doesn't work
you need to plan the entire action from beginning to end. you need to know your route, if you're marching. you should have an alternative route, in case something happens. you should know the temperament of your local police department.
you should have concrete goals in mind for the action, and when those are accomplished, you should send everybody home. new organizers tend to want the action to go on as long as possible. doing that is just asking to lose control
doing all that and being able to make command decisions on the fly when things go wrong (because they will, and you won't be able to stop everything to ask 1,000 people their opinions on the proper course of action) takes a lot of practice, and this isn't the time to practice
