Total f*cking bullsh*t. Police officers are first responders, along with firefighters. They are SUPPOSED to be trained to know when a victim is in serious physical distress. Here are some symptoms of "asphyxia/strangulation." Floyd had all of these. 1/1 https://twitter.com/correctace/status/1266483486099193863
blood shot eyes
bloody nose
swollen tongue, swollen lips
Raspy voice, Hoarse voice
Difficulty breathing
Unable to breath
Agitation
Dizziness/ headaches
Nausea, stomach upset
Unable to speak/Complete loss of voice
Involuntary urination 2/1
"Victims may lose consciousness by any one or all of following methods: blocking carotid arteries in the neck (depriving brain of oxygen), blocking jugular veins (preventing deoxygenated blood from exiting the brain),..." 3/1
and closing off the airway, making breathing impossible.
Very little pressure on both the carotid arteries and/or veins for 10 seconds is necessary to cause unconsciousness. To completely close off the trachea, 3 times the pressure (33 lbs.) is required." 4/1
"Observation of the changes in these signs over time can greatly facilitate determination of the nature and scope of internal damage produced during the assault, and lend credibility to witness accounts of the force and duration of the assault." 5/1
"If the victim experiences difficulty breathing, speaking, swallowing or experience nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, involuntary urination and/or defecation," immediate medical attention is needed. "Strangulation has only recently been identified 6/1
as 1 of the most lethal forms of domestic violence: unconsciousness may occur within seconds and death within minutes. When domestic violence perpetrators strangle their victims, not only is this a felonious assault, but it may be an attempted homicide." 7/1
"Strangulation is an ultimate form of power and control, where the batterer can demonstrate control over the victim’s next breath; having devastating psychological effects or a potentially fatal outcome." 8/1
"Conscious victims of strangulation will first feel terror and severe pain. If strangulation persists, unconsciousness will follow. Before lapsing into unconsciousness, a strangulation victim will usually resist violently, often producing injuries... 9/1
of their own neck in an effort to claw off the assailant." George Floyd is documented going through each of these symptoms on the video ("I can't breathe. My head hurts. My stomach hurts. Everything hurts." He had blood coming from his nose and mouth. 10/1
His voice became hoarse. His lips and tongue were swollen. He was agitated. He had involuntary urinary incontinence visible on the ground under the police cruiser. He called out, "please! please! you're killing me." He loses consciousness.) 11/1
All these symptoms were pointed out by the young woman who identified as an EMT. She begged to take his vital signs. Chauvin responded by reaching in his pocket for mace and shot a stream at her. We hear her say, "He got me." She should sue him. 12/1
“There are 50 small muscles in the neck that can be torn, vocal chords can be damaged, causing speech issues, and [if the victim lives]the brain damage is lifelong." The whole time we see Chauvin rocking back and forth with his shinbone on Floyd's neck, 13/1
...alternately cutting off blood flow to his brain then cutting off his airway. This rocking motion would have severely heightened the agony Floyd was experiencing. Chauvin knew exactly what he was doing. 14/1
This is as coldblooded and malevolent a murder as I have ever heard of, and to be perpetrated by a police officer and first responder who should know the physical signs of strangulation is revolting. And yet the autopsy "revealed no physical findings... 15/1
...that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation. Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions..." That is blatantly untrue. The video clearly shows Floyd exhibiting all the symptoms of strangulation. 16/1
I sincerely hope Mr. Floyd's family does an independent autopsy. If there is a fund for this I hope everyone on this thread contributes to it. And if Chauvin does not get life in a predominantly black prison there will be no more peace in this country. 17/1
