Long Thread:
I tried pitching like Roy in 2010 and was horrible. In 2012, I was traded from LA to Philly. I remember meeting him for the first time in Washington and was awestruck. A week later I’m shagging in the outfield and asked whoever I was with, “How do you talk to Roy?”

Whoever it was said, “Just walk up and talk to him.” So I did. I only had the opportunity to get to know him for 2 months. My best memories were playing frisbee golf in Citizens Bank Park with Roy and @DongLien after his starts. I learned so much from him during those matches.
I showed up to the field one day and this was sitting on my chair. Roy had the Mental ABCs of Pitching put on audio book. I never asked for it...he just gave it to me. I felt like I earned this CD. It is one of the best moments in my career.
I know this is one story among thousands of how Roy impacted the guys he played with. It breaks my heart to know that there are people walking around hurting like he was.
With all that being said, my point is this: If you are hurting. If you are struggling. If you feel like you are about to break...please find someone you can talk to or confide in. #Imperfect
