the incredible thing is that people do not seem to want to factcheck even a little bit pretty much any claim ever made about him, even when it is blatantly obvious the claim emerged in a straightforwardly nazi millieu

the myths that float around the man are at this point a self-generating machine of utter nazi bullpish that is so schematic it could be produced by a bot.

anyway i also just wanna say an unironic thank you to uncle george for having invested lots of time and effort in supporting open and democratic society building efforts in eastern europe at great personal and political expense. you are the sole good rich person

there's a lot of discourse rightly about how fucked it is that leftists sometimes buy into a narrative crafted by a handful of hungarian nationalists about how one Jewish man supposedly wants to rule the world, but we don't discuss enough /why/ they made that narrative

and the answer at least partly is to discredit the actually incredible work his foundations do in Eastern Europe, which deserves open and unconditional praise even from socialists.
