Why Britney Spears overall net worth is not likely to increase (and where the money goes), a thread.

A lot of Britney fans have been debating, whether we should keep buying Britney or Britney brand related items/tickets/songs (see the free Britney movement). To be clear, I'm not against it if you do, I just want to give a 24 hour example so you can decide for yourself.

Your purchase of mood ring or any Britney track @ 99¢ nets Britney 9¢. To contrast, Kevin federline makes $1.39 per MINUTE just for having the kids. In addition, Britney has extraordinary costs that go beyond most high caliber artists

To reach iTunes #1 - you have to have 5k-12k units moved. Let's average it at 10k. Remember, Jamie Spears makes 1.5-2% for every sale and $10,833k/mo income + Kevin makes $60k/mo on child support + she pays for boys tuiton/activities.

Let's see Britney's $9,900 for 10,000 streams (pricing it over 24 hours, average cost of 99¢ per stream/download):
- record label: -$7,128
- streaming platforms: -$1,782
- Jamie: -$198 (% of sales)
- Jamie/cship: -$361
- Kevin: -$2,000
Britney's income for a day at #1:
-$1,561

So she could stay at number one, 10k/day in perpetuity, and never see a dime. I didn't include any other non-disclosed expenses to management companies, marketing/branding, misc legal expenses, attorney fees for Kfed and cship, security, etc.

To play devil's advocate here, streaming isn't the only source in an artist like Britney's estate, she's got past royalties and contracts, (hopefully) compounding interests on accounts, shoots, videos, sponsored social media, ads, products, old shows but B's life is expensive!

Not trying to sway people either way, but this tells you the extraordinarily high cost/responsibility Britney bears for a lot of people (think of how many people she has directly or indirectly employed over the years too). Exceptional earner indeed.

This is likely why Britney's net worth is consistently clocked in at around $59M even though you could argue she's worth much more - it's mostly her name.There is more going out than coming in, she has very little known real estate and a lot of division of assets.

If you are not a Britney fan regular, this is in part why there is a #freebritney movement. While we know Britney has some personal and private health struggles, a person of her caliber should have civil liberties and be able to keep more of her hard earned money.
