I pray that this is the end of the age of police forces. Abolition now.

I genuinely believe it’s possible to want to become a police officer for good reasons. But once you become one, there is no way to actually manifest those good intentions, because policing as it actually is? It’s evil to the core. It morally rots you from the inside out.

Police abolition is first and foremost for the sake of the communities that are devastated by their violent enforcement of violent laws, but it is also for the sake of the souls of the human beings who marr the image of God in themselves by waging violence to protect the powerful

There is no way to be a good police officer, not because the people who try aren’t genuine, or because everyone who wants to be a police officer is a bad person, but because policing, even when it’s done by the book, is an evil job that pays you to harm the poor and the oppressed
