twitter has been bad for days, tbf. but IMSI catchers can crash your signal. that's hard to detect unless you're somehow logging every base tower you connect to. if you connect to a tower that doesn't exist, you might be surveilled. Cops routinely hide the fact that they're using catchers from judges (at DOJ's instruction) so they might not even bother w/ a warrant. If you're in DC, I'd say chances are higher, but if you're at a major protest, there are definitely feds there anyway, whether u see them or not
