Hey! Here& #39;s a list on casual racism you can work on within yourself to help.
1. Letting your non poc friends say the n word or saying it yourself if you& #39;re not black. This is disrespectful on so many levels.
2. Being afraid of someone because of their skin color or assuming they will rob you because of it. This is the exact thing we are fighting against. Being. Black. Doesn& #39;t. Make. Them. Bad. #BlackLivesMatters
3. Telling someone to "stop speaking black" is another example. It is not okay in anyway and further causes a gap between everyone. Please stop doing this.
4. Saying you aren& #39;t racist because you have a black friend. Just admit you were wrong and move on. Throwing someone under the bus like that and reducing them to just being an item is absolutely not ok.
5. Silence. Being silent when those things happen makes you an enabler. Stand up, call some buddies in to help. Get. The. Upper. Hand. And don& #39;t let it keep happening.
6. Saying your problems are bigger than a black person& #39;s. This makes the racism today seem smaller than it is, and is a dick move. No one is saying you don& #39;t have your own problems. We are simply saying that Black people are discriminated against for something they can& #39;t change.
7. Denying white privilege exists. It does exist and denying it exists feeds into what the racists want you to think.
8. Saying you are "blind to someone& #39;s color." This simply erases POC history. Being black isn& #39;t bad and shouldn& #39;t be ignored, instead it should be able to be embraced without being treated as lesser.

9. I personally believe this is common sense but do not put black face paint on your face to "honor blacks." It isn& #39;t funny, and it is not respectful or helpful like you think.
10. Calling black people racist nicknames, whether in your head or out loud. I do not feel comfortable giving examples of these but do some research into nicknames that could be considered racist. Please.
11. Cultural appropriation. Don& #39;t go around taking things from POC history if you aren& #39;t black. It isn& #39;t yours to use.
