How long do Coronavirus symptoms really last?

Some of these patients say they’ve been ill for as long as 8 weeks. That& #39;s 4x longer than what official guidelines have advised. http://read.medium.com/fZPaHf3 ">https://read.medium.com/fZPaHf3&q...
Hannah Davis first ran a fever on March 25. Two months later, the New York-based musical artist is still sick.

Some days, she has gastrointestinal issues, rib aches, or kidney pain. Other days, it’s a stiff neck, headaches, or neurological issues. http://read.medium.com/7zUnWYs ">https://read.medium.com/7zUnWYs&q...
In February, the @WHO reported that “the median time from onset to clinical recovery for mild cases is approximately 2 weeks,” or 3-6 for severe cases.

But patient anecdotes have begun to challenge this notion of a 2-week recovery. http://read.medium.com/ZoC56IO ">https://read.medium.com/ZoC56IO&q...
At first, the two-week timeline gave Davis comfort. But when the deadline passed and her sickness hadn& #39;t lifted, she started to worry.

“[I] realized this wasn’t going to be a linear progression to get better,” she says.
As a result, thousands of patients in online support groups have begun doing their own research.

In one such survey conducted by @itsbodypolitic, 60 respondents who recovered from Covid-19 said their symptoms had lasted, on average, 27 days. http://wearebodypolitic.com/covid19 ">https://wearebodypolitic.com/covid19&q...
Going forward, activists and scientists say the best research on the virus will likely come from both researchers and patients.

“[This is] a new era of scientific collaboration,” says Diana Berrent, the founder of another group, Survivors Corps.
