hot take: If someone makes fanart for a creator and genuinely only made it to express support and gratitude, they wouldn't care about numbers their artwork received- they'd care the fact the creator saw it in the first place and appreciated it.
I've talked to artists and creators combined about this issue. It seems there's a HUGE disconnect in standard procedure. Artists, thank you so much for creating things for myself and my friends. It genuinely makes my day. Thank you to those who explained their side rather than-
attack for it. Some of us just don't understand why numbers matter that much on fanart when we used to cry over a simple Twitter like to who we looked up to. But, things are clearly different now. I'll talk to my boys and explain QRT and the negatives to it.
