watching frozen II, I'll tell you all how it is when I am done.
a thread: (spoilers)

short story, I liked it a lot. I honestly did go in with very low expectations, (sequel bias, probably), and was very pleasantly surprised. However, I still do have a gripe with it which I'll get to shortly.

first off, the music. It was *really* good.
there was not one song that did not have me either captivated, amused, or in awe. Into the Unknown and The Next Right Thing particularly stand out to me as the best songs on the soundtrack. Nothing as singable as Let it Go, but I might actually be glad about that.
and choosing to make such a major plot point, (the voice calling to Elsa), so tied to the music really tied both story and song together.

Secondly, the story. It was good, not bad at all. Definitely unique, and no twist villain really made a better change of pace.
My largest gripe is simply that the story felt like a 2 hour story fit into 1 and a half. I feel like there were things rushed a little bit that hurt the flow that a few more minutes could have made all the difference in. However, the story remained intact, and was nice.
and it was REALLY nice that the movie wasn't just a callback-nostalgia trip meant to grab cash.

and oh goodness, the visuals:

gorgeous.

Disney tends not to ever fail on this part, and this movie particularly shows their talent in that regard. Especially when Elsa reaches the
river. The blue/pink dynamic against black really was the glazing on the donut.

All in all, I am remarkably pleased with this movie, much more than I expected, and I honestly would recommend it to most people.
