I really love & feel so privileged to have non-black colleagues & friends educating themselves on black issues.
One thing I ask is for you to talk amongst yourselves about what you learn. & before you talk to me about it, ask if I’m in the headspace to listen (usually it’s a no)
My dad taught me race theory when I was 9.

I furthered my american history education when I was 19.

Y’all are just now catching up. It’s hard and there’s a lot to learn. I know. But I’m not required to be your teacher nor your therapist.
when you become overwhelming angry by what you learn, do a google search (or twitter search) of additional readings.

call your non-black friends/fam and vent to them. plan and organize with them about how you’ll practice being an ally.
and finally, if you’re in a financially stable situation, the very least you can do is spend twice as much as your black colleague on donations
