/ Typically I use twitter to talk about consumer trends, tech, and VC activity. I try to keep it positive, usually including an emoji or few.
Today, I’ve only got words for a human issue.

/ Raised by a Bolivian immigrant, I saw shades of racism - making fun of her accent to confusing her for staff at tennis clubs where I competed
/ I pass for white, and am granted white privilege. Skating between a hispanic and white identity is its own confusing mess. People unknowing of my hispanic identity have shown racism towards the people I share a language, heritage and culture with, and in turn towards me.
/ Racism hurts, and it stains, and it rots our systems from top to bottom. Its pervasive and hurts Americans, hurts humanity.
/ I feel crippled and overwhelmed to my core.
I can’t begin to fathom what anyone who identifies as black is feeling. You have a president eliciting violence, local police sanctioning murders, and a disproportionate of your community killed by a global pandemic.

/ The world is fighting a war against a deadly virus to protect humanity. Now we have to work to protect and advance what makes humanity so special - love, compassion, community.
/ In times like this, we are all reminded of the importance of family and safety, and just how interconnected we are. Our actions or lack thereof combatting a disease and racism have consequences to people near and far.
/ We are far from a perfect union. We can take steps - small or big - to walk towards perfecting our union. Ppl I follow or that follow me are working on game changing projects to make a better world. I’m grateful and aware of the power you have to create change. Use it for good
/ If this tweet storm does anything, I hope its a reminder of the power we each have to pick up a stone, drop it in water, & create ripple effects. Your stone might be a text, signature, phone call, book, or more. Together those ripple effects become waves, & then change happens
