It is unfair and overwhelming that once again our hearts are breaking for the Black lives lost to violence we’ve seen before our eyes – and for the communities where we work and the kids we teach, who have lost so much and felt so much pain, especially in recent weeks.
In this moment we are clear-eyed about the challenges, but we cannot lose hope. It can be hard to hold on to hope at times of such pain and anguish, but we must ensure that the world our children grow up in is a more equitable, more just, and more fair society for all of us.
We stand in community with all those working to build a better world. Our hope is in our corps members and alumni working in solidarity with the communities we serve, standing for equity and justice. And for a future where all children can learn, lead, and thrive.
