Taking off for a bit, but when I return I’ll be back on the streets capturing more footage like the craziness down below. So consider this the start of my thread where I cover my third night of the Minneapolis riot

National guard is out, and there’s a curfew. Will be interesting https://twitter.com/sophnar0747/status/1266213127189905410
Also, if you want to support my work as I get into the thick of things, here’s a link. Though times are tough & a COVID19 wreaked havoc on all of us, so dont feel as if you’re obligated to. I’ll be fine without donations, too.

Love ya all regardless https://www.gofundme.com/f/sophnar0747
Heading out. Probably the most nervous I've been before one of these strictly due to the curfew, but it's not enough to sway me from going, either. See ya all with some footage in a bit.
I began this thread with a link to the most chaotic moment of last night, but I wanna add this in from night one as it’s probably my favorite clip thus far. The moment I got tear gassed and shot at: https://twitter.com/sophnar0747/status/1266069267830779909?s=21 https://twitter.com/sophnar0747/status/1266069267830779909
On the ground. Helicopters still around. Smoke coming from various directions. Wonder if that Little Caesar’s I captured being broken into was ignored. Smoke in that area.
It’s like a bomb went off down here. Just, at a loss for words.
“Kill bankers”
Little Caesar’s didn’t make it. My footage from last night must be from minutes before it was ignited.
Hope they were insured.
So much destruction
Lots of ACAB graffiti.
Minnesota: 2020
Not messing around today.
Calmer moment between police and citizenry.
The calm chat eventually gets somewhat interrupted. Though it’s still peaceful. You can feel the anger in the shaking of her voice.
The library is somewhat damaged, smashed computers inside too, but all the books appear untouched.

Graffiti suggests killing cops.
Lots of peaceful discussions between the riot police and the citizenry. The police say they’re ‘tired’, get the sense they’re just doing their job. They can’t let a city burn, but they seem to understand the anger. Talked to a few myself, it’s respectful.
The aftermath is eerie
“This is not a riot! This an uprising”
Riot police and national guard hold the line:
A destroyed house? You can see what I think is an oven inside.
“Free shit 4 all”
Riot police in front of a destroyed car.
They’ve been here in full gear since 7am. It’s now 7:23pm. They’re getting worn out and exhausted. Fumes are heavy here too. Burned building right next to then. Same one I wandered around in early in last night’s thread.
Next batch of cops wouldn’t talk to me. They’re clearly more pissed than some of the others.
This building has now been pouring water for almost 48 hours. Same one from last night’s footage.
It’s about to snap.
I’m trapped. Curfew in 10. Police set a trap for protestors.

Well.... don’t say I didn’t do my best today. 😅

Tear gas fills the air, police warn protestors to disperse.
Risking a lot for this. Enjoy.

Protesters dispense water amidst the chaos. Others march. And there’s a first aid vehicle, of sorts.
The national guard and the police have retreated. Crowd grows and moves through areas they once occupied.
Crowd matches on. Stretches blocks. No idea where we’re going. No police presence whatsoever.
Crowd feels victorious, but I can’t help but feel things will shift within the hour. Staying with the crowd for better or worse.
Police lights and smoke a mile away.
Oh no.
Update. No injuries. Car was driving unsafe through crowd. They chased after to deal “crowd justice”, it took off. Not sure what damage the vehicle took.
Miles from site of the original protest damage is everywhere. One building destroyed, smoke in distance as well. Not sure what it is yet.
Rioters destroy random car in distance
Senseless destruction everywhere. Minneapolis is trashed. MILES from protest
Cars on fire. Explosion in distance.

Situation begins to get unsettling. Feel I’ll be witness to carnage
What are @GovTimWalz and @realDonaldTrump planning on doing? Fires spread. Sirens ring in the distance. Will this continue?
New fire in distance. Heading up to it now
Walking through smoke. Not sure from what. Can’t find source
Protestors come across cop on roof of building. Things about to get hectic.
The building is the Minneapolis police department. So it begins.
It’s chaotic

https://twitter.com/rt_com/status/1266556992317001729?s=21 https://twitter.com/rt_com/status/1266556992317001729
Police lurk in back of station.
Directly across the street from the Minneapolis 5th precinct, looting begins.
“Wanted for murder...”
Looting
More looting
Rioters attempt to break into an ATM
Bank gets broken into. Wells Fargo across from 5th precinct
Pharmacy ransacked. Now private security guarding it.
They’re lighting a gas station on fire!
Backside of station
I need to consider pulling out. This is getting unsettling.

Was told National guard is bailing? Can’t control? Someone please confirm for me?!?
Smoke everywhere.
Inside a ransacked Office Depot.
Identify?
Putting it all on the line tonight. Please consider supporting me at the top of the thread
Police seem to maybe be preparing?
Protest still rages as rioters loot EVERY nearby business
This new group is massive. Thousands of people walking. Hundreds of cars driving
Will the fifth precinct survive the night?
Office Depot, looted earlier in my thread has fallen.
Another massive crowd arrives.
Walgreens is falling
I’m working my way out of the city
No longer feel safe. Fights have been breaking out. People are drunk. Shits on fire. Building burn. I leave
Man guarding area with shotgun. Asked not to be photographed
That was the most terrifying 30 mins of my life. Escaping a city alone as pure chaos erupted. Every city block being trashed. Stores smashed, people rolling up in cars jumping out and breaking into buildings. How does this revert to normal? Can it? What happens next?
Anyways I’m in a car. My evac found me. Heading home
I made it home. Collapsed onto couch. After 3 days off this my body is past exhaustion. Tonight became genuinely terrifying. A fear I’d be outed. There’s a mob justice mentality, and it’s not pleasant. Fights among looters began breaking out too. Tomorrow I relax. No night 4.
Now to find a pizza place that is open. I’m starving.
I proved a lot to myself these last 3 nights & Im damn proud of my coverage. I risked a lot & it made me better in ways I cant fully express here. What a wild ride, thanks for taking it with me. ❤️x999
Random stuff from throughout the night, have pics and vids incoming.
Quick break. My pizza is here and even though it’s Papa Johns cuz that’s all that is open, it tastes like magic. That’s how wiped I am
Speaking of pizza, the rioters burned down a Dominos.

Kudos to me for the segue.
Cub Foods.
I'll avoid making a joke about Arby's being gross because how many people lost a much needed job due to this arson?
Target is utterly destroyed, what happens in a week when this neighborhood needs food? Dollar Tree and Cub Foods are destroyed too...
Beauty Supply shop and Tobacco store being looted, the salon shop is the same one I got some footage in yesterday but had to leave due to fumes.
Strip mall destroyed. How many jobs lost? Will the rioters financially cover the black people who no longer have a place to work?
So many people got tear gassed.
Spoiler, this warning was meaningless. The police and the National Guard never arrested anyone and they all retreated maybe ten minutes later. Many hours later and the city is destroyed. Amazing work by law enforcement.
Riots: 'Fun for the whole family'

(she's recording a car being vandalized)
A legitimately peaceful protester from what I saw.
