my baby sister really over here pissed at me for saying all cops are bad like bitch we watched our best friend (15 y.o., 110 lbs, 5'4) get tackled by 3 cops while sitting on the curb having a panic attack, even w.o. having experienced that it should still be common knowledge
(we got stopped bc someone who didnt like us called the cops and said we had weed on us - we didnt - and wouldnt let them search us -bc we legally dont have to-, they then called back up and two more cops showed up, they asked why she was agitated and i explained we both are...
mentally ill and that she was having a panic attack bc they were getting in her face and telling her to hand over her purse after she said they didnt have a warrant. they wanted to take her home bc she's a minor and it was after curfew, they told me to leave...
I didnt want to but I was scared and having a panic attack too at this point and told her I'd meet her at her house, when I started walking away I turned around bc she started yelling because they tackled her to the ground- 2 grown men and a woman...
they then lied and told her mom she was drinking (she wasnt, we were sober) and tried to tell the court we had weed (didnt work bc no evidence duh) regardless she still got put on house arrest for a month and supervised probation for 3
she was sitting on the curb hyperventilating and crying w her emotional support dog (weighs literally 10lbs and has never been aggressive, wasnt even barking until they tackled her)...
and we arent even black, I'm white and she's native (but light enough to pass) and they still did this. I cant even imagine how much worse it is to be black in America. ACAB, idgaf if ur 'trying to make a difference', make a difference by holding cops responsible and working...
to change the laws that were set in place to target black people. advocate for mandatory police therapy, more training, more background tests, etc. i hope this thread doesn't come off as trying to speak over anyone, just pointing out that no one is safe- this matters to everyone-
