THREAD: As promised, I know a lot of y’all are looking for ways to plug in. Here are some things you can do right now with your wallets, bodies, voices, and/or privilege.
WITH YOUR WALLETS. Donate! Donate to folks on the ground, memorial funds, hospital funds, bail funds, and to people/orgs who have BEEN doing this work and who will continue to do this work long after the fires (and stabbers) are extinguished.

There are a ton more places to donate. Find a local freedom fund, or a special organization in your city dedicated to the RADICAL liberation of ALL Black people. Post somebody& #39;s bail.
Money isn& #39;t just about what you invest in, but what you DIVEST in. Examine your spending habits and stop giving money to certain businesses and institutions. Great example: U of Minnesota is divesting from the MPD.
WITH YOUR BODIES: Rally. March.
White people: If you& #39;re going to protests, put yourself between Black people and the police. Form a wall. Intervene. Hell, get in between aggressive citizens and Black people. Protect. Block. Intervene. Deescalate.
White people: If you& #39;re going to protests, put yourself between Black people and the police. Form a wall. Intervene. Hell, get in between aggressive citizens and Black people. Protect. Block. Intervene. Deescalate.
RESOURCES: Can& #39;t give money? Can& #39;t/won& #39;t protest? Provide supplies. Make signs. Pull up and drop off snacks, water, etc. Provide gathering space or sound equipmeent. We& #39;re in a pandemic. Provide MASKS, SANITIZER, etc. Give services (legal advice, printing) PRO BONO / FOR THE FREE
SKILLS: Are you a medic/EMT/medically-trained? Show up and provide aid. Or drop off first aid supplies. Are you artsy? Make signs. Pull up. Drop them off. Help organizations make digital graphics to be circulated on social media. Pen radical op-eds.
Are you a therapeutic person to chat with? Help folks who may be triggered during marches and rallies. Observant? Watch. Document by taking notes. Write down police actions. Don& #39;t post vids on social media. Protect the identities of the protestors when relaying any of this info.
YOUR PLATFORM/VOICE: Uplift their names. George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Ahmaud Arbery. Speak up about what& #39;s going on. Or honestly, be quiet if you& #39;re going to be one of those "Welll..... technically" people. Connect folks on the ground with media contacts. Retweet important info.
Not everything calls for you to be on the front line with a megaphone. Whatever you& #39;re good at — writing, photography, being present, speaking, research, theory, logistics, networking. Do it for this movement. Do it for this moment. Do it for George. And Breonna. And Ahmaud.
