Target at 72nd and Dodge streets closed early ahead of a planned peaceful protest in the area this evening. There have been isolated social media posts calling for violence and destruction of property.

Officers advising of a life safety risk. Around 60 people standing in the medians along Dodge. Event organizers clearing them off without police assistance. Current crowd size estimate is around 800 people per police.

Crowd continues to occupy the medians creating a life safety hazard. The organizers have spoken to the group but they continue to do it.

"Ask them to not do that otherwise we will have to shut down the road for their safety which will then defeat the purpose of them protesting."

All traffic on Dodge Street and 72nd Street being shut down. A large group of protesters blocking WB traffic on Dodge St. Police moving in to attempt to clear them.

"We've lost the street. There is nothing we can do at this point."

7 NSP Troopers enroute to assist with traffic.

They are swarmed an NSP cruiser and reports of people on top of the cruiser. Sending numerous units to assist.

Trooper is 88. The people are retreating the troopers vehicle.

Multiple OPD cruisers surrounded. They are preparing to deploy pepper balls.

Omaha officer has activated his emergency button near Longhorn Steakhouse.

One officer is injured.

They are holding a line near Charleston's.

A Sarpy Sheriff was evacuated from the scene. He was alert, conscious and breathing. Unknown injuries.

"They are throwing bottles at us."

A squad has been requested to 72nd and Dodge for a civilian sprayed.

There are medics on standby for medical emergencies.

"Make sure everyone has helmets and masks and is ready to deploy pepperball."

Medics requested to the Arrest Van for a party with difficulty breathing.

"We are taking a lot of objects from the north!"

The arrest van is full and out of service. Requesting a MAT bus for people in custody.

Officers continue to report bottles and rocks thrown at them. Requesting additional supplies.

The crowd is throwing smoke grenades at the police.

There are reports of people armed with bats in front of Target.
