The Hurricanes have overhauled their entire backfield with the departures of Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas with the last two NFL drafts. Leading the committee this upcoming season is Junior Cam’Ron Harris who is tough as nails and adds multiple demensions to his game.
While Harris may not be a polished route runner, he can be implemented in screen plays orginaically with the ability to flatten routes, quick short speed and exceptional vision after the catch.
Like previously mentioned, he excels in spotting holes, lanes and even the smallest of creases. Aside from his toughness, this is his sweet spot. His long speed is also admirable as well, which caught my attention with great surprise due to his boxey stature.
Harris is a powerful runner. What compliments his strength in his game is his immaculate contact balance. More times than not, it takes a battalion to take him down. He gives every play his all and quite frequently makes negative plays into 5 yard pick ups.
To cap off this thread, I’d like to point out that Cam’Ron does have his shortcomings; pass blocking being the main one. He’s got relatively short arms and tends to lean into his blocks. Overall, I think he will contribute tremendously for the Hurricanes as the primary back.
My comparison: Frank Gore.
