Well, you know what that means.

THREAD about the death, carnage, and human sacrifice that we were told by our moral and intellectual betters would be the result of the evil decision to reopen.

I think some apologies, and some crow eating, are in order. https://twitter.com/ericmstrauss/status/1266136090806755329
First off, @amandamull, who wrote in @TheAtlantic that Georgia (one of the states listed) would be conducting an “experiment in human sacrifice.”
Next, you’ll remember the original gauntlet tossed by @ron_fournier. It’s evolved a few times so far we’re in week 5 of our 2-3 week window.
@JoeNBC has had a tough couple of weeks.
@joelockhart has a tenuous relationship with the truth at best.
No list would be complete without @JRubinBlogger stepping on a rake
And we’ve got blue check doctors too. Here’s @DrLeanaWen, a name you may know.
Mayors in Georgia weighed in with doom and gloom too, including @MayorJohnsonSAV and @KeishaBottoms.
But it wasn’t just local. We’ve got national figures doing the same, including @tedlieu
And no list would be complete without a bad take from @ChrisMurphyCT. This one doesn’t look great in retrospect.
It wasn’t just The Atlantic. A lot of outlets didn’t cover themselves in glory, including @washingtonpost
And the same goes for @voxdotcom
And of course the funny men had a field day. Tough luck, @sethmeyers.
Anyway, perhaps a lesson for next time: if we can’t do without the hysterics, maybe we can at least refrain from calling the other side blood-thirsty murderers?
