My name is Tiana and I attend @BowieState and one of our own has died due to police brutality and it’s not getting enough coverage so I have taken it upon myself to inform both my school and others of his unlawful death. This is for you Finan. #FinanBerhe
There was a 911 call placed reporting a “knife welding man” in a neighborhood parking lot causing a disturbance. On arrival before even fully accessing the situation, the officer came out his vechile with his gun drawn.
The officer told Finan to put the knife down and a clear distressed Finan rushed toward the officer. The officer screams and Finan backs away. Finan hide behind some cars for a bit but then rushed toward the officer again. He was gunned down with multiple bullets.
Finan was known to suffer from mental illness and clearly in distress. He was senselessly gunned down when other measures could have been taken to prevent him from harming himself or others. Mental Illness does not justify murder
Finan Berhe was killed by cops on May 7th, 2020. His story only reached my and many others attention yesterday. The body cam footage is out there and the only consequence the officer has faced was PAID administrative leave. https://twitter.com/smilayydelight_/status/1266194022688751617
There is only one article out telling his story and if this continues he will be another forgotten black body. Please spead this thread and say his name. He was #classof2020 and his whole life ahead of him. Don’t let him die in vein #RIPFinanBerhe #BlackLivesMatter 
Bowie State is currently taking action to verify his student status so I will definitely update you guys. Whether he was a student or not it doesn’t devalue this story.
