guys. i understand we're all upset about chauvin being charged with only third degree murder and negligent manslaughter, but unfortunately trying to charge him with first degree murder will most likely only get him acquitted, meaning he'll ACTUALLY get off scott free

in order to be charged with first degree murder there HAS to be solid evidence for intent to kill. obviously we all know that george floyd yelling "i can't breathe" and chauvin continuing to kneel on him is pretty damn vile and most likely intentional

but the court can't just see it that way. a case could've easily been made that he was just stupid and negligent. i'm happy he was charged at all, even if if's not the charge everyone wanted

such is the way of our law system. you have to do it right or he'll just get off anyway despite the evidence that is literal video footage of the murder happening

anyway, this leaves the three remaining cops that were accessory to this murder. i hope they're charged too, and that they're not just charging derek chauvin to pacify the crowd. that obviously won't work.

and to clarify, i'm aware that there IS evidence of chauvin's police brutality before hand, but looking at this from the perspective of how corrupt this country is and the fact that he's white, this shit could just be seen as 'isolated incidents'.

it's crazy JUST HOW MUCH he's getting off free with this considering these charges will only put him in jail for what, 25 years or under?
