hi friends here are some tips: since protests are ramping up please dont discuss attending them/friends attending them on the timeline or anywhere on twitter. police use that info to search tweets and identify protestors *months* after the fact. download signal to communicate.
furthermore police identify protestors primarily via facial recognition and identifiable clothing. don’t wear any unique, brightly colored clothing that can easily be traced on surveillance cameras. blending in is your friend.

it is imperative you cover your *whole face.*
you can wear a ski mask, sunglasses or goggles + face mask or bandana + hoodie or hat combo. it‘s easier to map your face if your forehead/nose/eyes/cheeks are exposed.

carry a light weight change of clothes you can switch into in a cut with no cameras so you can’t be traced.
if you go with friends it’s good to come up with a group name you can scream out to locate each other in crowds/to avoid using each other’s real names.

preplan rendezvous spots to meet in case of a emergency/if you lose one another.

if you drive park away from area.
you can also wear civilian clothes underneath your protest clothes to make it easier to change your appearance (again, while avoiding cameras). it’s a good plan to have a buddy system with your friends and an alibi story for why you’re in the area while you escape.
surveillance is a key part of policing protests they have cops solely for recording and watching from rooftops or as undercover protestors.

suspicious "protestors” may be alone or in small groups have handcuffs, radios, ear wires, sophisticated/expensive gear/clothing/equipment
if you’re suspicious you can keep an eye on the protestor(s) in question, record them for documentation, inform other protestors about your doubts and confront the suspicious person(s). (like the minnesota protestors did with the cop disguised as ant*fa destroying the autozone)
