Re: George Floyd. I was ashamed to see that the officer standing by was Asian. He is symbolic of what many in the Asian community do when we see racism perpetuated upon others: we stay silent. Silence/complacency in the face of anti-black racism = complicity. I/We must be better.

Yes, this happened in America but these issues are not exclusive to America. It’s ignorant to assume anti-black racism doesn’t exist in Canada. I’m going to commit to better educating myself, and learning more about how to be a better ally.
