both of them were white latino's.
i kind of wish you all would realized that being latino is not a racial marker, but rather more of a pan-ethnicity marker. https://twitter.com/sarasinthepit/status/1266386820239110145
its 2020 and you all are still letting race and ethnicity kick your ass's.
being latino does not make you a poc, just like being poc does not make you a latino.
whiteness is exclusive, yes! but that doesnt mean people are any less white bc they have a latino parent or latino heritage.
this idea that being latino makes one automatically poc is very dangerous for latino's that are poc( specifically those that are brown and black).
it also completely erases the histories of white latinx and their sociopolitcal hegemony on the latinx identity, bc what you've essentially insinuated is that proximity to non-whiteness via shared histories/language equates to non-white identities which is not true.
your idea also reinforces another white supremacist school of thought, the supremacy of WASP( White Anglo Saxon Protestant), the idea that only those w/ white heritage from northern Europe (yes i knw not all norther Europeans are germanic/anglo saxon), r the only valid white ppl
it also enforces this idea that latino's are all racially mixed an live in societies that hav no understanding of race due to miscenegation which is untrue and white supremacist thought that has reinforced by white latinx( spanish, french, portuguese) who want to erase-
the existence of black and brown and indigenous ppl that exist w/in latin america.
