The white power structure always sparks the conflict with some form of lynching and then goads Black people into reacting until white society gets scared again. Then they do the bare minimum by arresting one person & ask if we’ll forget it all happened & stop being mad now.
It’s totally violent.
White society pretends to be interested in understanding Black people’s pain and not relishing in it. They aren’t replaying the video of murder to better understand the pain of being choked. They do it because they relish seeing a large dark Black man be choked by a cop.
They‘re fascinated by images of a large dark Black man, who they assign all manner of racist fantasy to, being choked to death by a white cop. They identify w/ the cop, not the murder victim. Perhaps the cop went too far but whether the negro was gentle or menacing is their focus
Spend time studying the history of slavery if you don’t see a basis for this analysis. I recommend reading “chapter 7: Seed” of “The Half Has Never Been Told” to understand how racist fantasy, the political designation of white manhood & the capitalist economy all interact.
