No one's asking, and I am going to make a proper thread about Sunny like I did about Cassie, but one thing that matters a lot to me is how he is written as a family man.
Sunny is a father to two daughters, and is an active parent who cooks for them, cleans up the place, disciplines, and just hangs out with them. He is a loved parent and his daughters confide in him and even push him to pursue his own happiness as well as theirs.
This matters to me because although people may find some personal truth in the stereotypical Abusive Asian Patriarch (I don't), in White/Western media this trope is rooted in racism and all too common - just another way Asian men are demonised or erased.
Sunny being a loving and loved father; a respected partner and friend to a White woman (with whom he leads and anchors the show); and having a healthy love life are all rare things for Asian men in this media-scape. All ways Sunny and the show at large are progressive & important
