It’s hard to articulate into words, but we’re so protective over our “things” because they’re stolen from us with no reprocussions. They wanna talk like us, dance like us, sing like us. Do their hair like us. Shape their bodies like us. But we get killed for looking like this...
They get to go home & act “urban” another day. Do you know how disheartening that is?? Y’all love big black men when they throw a ball around on TV but when they walk down the street, drive their cars, or even fucking blink their eyes they’re a threat and have to be put down...
The love is so conditional when it comes to black people. I have a lot of George Floyd’s in my life that I would lay down and die for without hesitation. So my spirit is tired and tbh I feel defeated.
