"I will send in the national guard... Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts." - President Trump

Let's be crystal clear:

This is pro-violence, authoritarian, racism. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1266231100780744704
Pro-violence: Trump says those who steal should be shot in the streets. I can't believe I have to say this, but death for theft is a violent punishment totally disproportionate to the crime. And, when capital punishment is inflicted without due process, it is murder.
Authoritarian: Trump wants looters - who are protesting the extrajudicial killing of a black man by police - to themselves be murdered without trial or defense. Turning our military into judge, jury, and executioner is blatantly un-Constitutional and deeply un-American...
not to mention grossly disrespectful of our servicemen & women who signed up to protect the nation, not kill its citizens.
Racism: There are stark differences in how Trump talks about white protestors and black protestors. White supremacists and neo-Nazis who carried torches, chanted "Jews will not replace us," and killed a woman? Trump says they are "very fine people."
White, heavily-armed anti-mask protestors who pushed around law enforcement officers in the Michigan state house? "Good people" he says. Black people stealing from Target? Trump wants them shot on-site.
It's also worth mentioning that when Trump says, "when the looting starts, the shooting starts," he's quoting former Miami Police Chief Walter Headley, a 1960s segregationist famous for his brutal, racist policing.

Let's also be clear that none of this is new.
Pro-violence: At his rallies, Trump has encouraged supporters to "knock the crap" out of protestors and that he would pay for legal fees after the assault, has said he'd like to punch a protestor in the face, and said a reportedly-beaten protestor "should have been roughed up."
In a speech to law enforcement officers, Trump encouraged them to hit suspects' heads against their patrol cars.

When a GOP Rep body slammed a reporter, Trump said "he's my type [of guy]."

Trump has pardoned war criminals, despite testimony from fellow SEALs about their crime.
Just the other day he shared a video of a man saying "the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat."

This list could go on and on.

Authoritarian: Trump has attacked virtually every democratic institution in our nation, including our elections. This list, too, could go on and on.
Racism: Trump on black NFL players peacefully protesting police brutality: "Get that son of a bitch off the field."

Trump called for the death penalty for the wrongly-accused black Central Park 5, but endorsed white pedophile Roy Moore for Senate.
Trump told 4 *American* minority congresswomen - only 1 of whom was born outside of the US - to "go back" to the countries they came from.

Trump had to be sued by the Justice Dept for racial housing discrimination when he prevented black people from living in his apartments -
their applications were marked with a "C" for "Colored" (he was not cleared but instead chose to settle outside of court).

Trump had to be fined for racial employment discrimination when he'd hide African American employees in the back of his NJ casino when high-rollers arrived.
Trump perpetuates the Obama birtherism conspiracy.

Trump says a Hispanic American judge is unqualified because of his ethnicity.

Trump has made offensive comment after comment after comment about minorities & immigrants. This list truly could go on and on and on.
In summary, Trump is a pro-violence, authoritarian, racist. That was clear before 2016, and you should be ashamed if you voted for him then. It's even more clear now, and you should be even more ashamed if you vote for him in 2020.
