EXCLUSIVE: A police officer sent a formal complaint to Cotswold District Council about a councillor who, after an alleged chat about potentially breaching lockdown rules, allegedly said the informants “need their f****** heads kicked in”, an email seen by the LDRS reveals. (1)
However Cotswold District Council has found the councillor, Mark Annett, didn’t breach its code of conduct and faces no further action.

Mr Annett has denied every allegation made. (2)
Although Sergeant Andrew Wood, of Gloucestershire Constabulary, was satisfied by Mr Annett’s explanation of the alleged breach of lockdown rules, he then claimed Mr Annett swore and “expressed a desire for someone to be injured”. (3)
Gloucestershire police said the officer “acted appropriately in making the complaint and the council deemed it suitable for internal investigation”, and the council's Tory group leader Richard Morgan said the party has not received any complaint from the police officer. (4)
