suddenly i'm thinking about this old lady (maybe 50 ish?) who stood behind me at a queue, we both were queuing at Times Square in NYC to get rush tickets for musicals.
Rush tickets are basically broadway tickets that are on sale the day itself at usually half price of what it usually cost, i got Aladdin musical ticket for around $130 USD
Anyway we queued for 40 mins? she saw me queuing alone browsing Grindr (lol) and she said 'OH you youngster are so lucky to have Grindr and Tinder!!! back in my days we didnt have it!'
so we chatted while queuing and i came to know she was from New Jersey, she was getting tickets for herself and her sister. she told me about the fun times she had with her gay friends back in the 80s and then 'AIDS came and wiped out half of them'.
when it was time to buy tickets (and head our separate ways) - we bid farewell to each other and that brief 45 mins spent chatting, it felt like... i don’t know, fate? LOLOL
