In interview w/VP contender @amyklobuchar, @mitchellreports asks: Do you feel now that you should take yourself out of consideration, given that we are now involved in yet another national conversation about racism and the way it has been overlooked by white officials?

. @amyklobuchar doesn't directly address whether her record is disqualifying, but says the decision is @JoeBiden's. Says as county attorney, black incarceration rate went down 12 percent and as senator, she pushed for sentencing reform, voting rights. "That's my record."

"There is institutional racism," @amyklobuchar said. Added she has been focused on Minneapolis and "hasn't been able to defend" herself against recent reports that she declined to prosecute officer involved in #GeorgeFloyd death.

. @amyklobuchar: "This idea that I somehow declined a case ... against this officer is absolutely false. It is a lie. I don't know what else to say about it." Said case was investigated and went to grand jury nine months after she became a senator.

. @amyklobuchar On state protocol of sending cases to grand jury: "I think that was wrong now. I think it would've been much better if I took the responsibility and looked at the cases and made the decision myself."
