As I’ve matured, i felt I’ve became more of a “listener” when it comes to politics (and I really try to listen to everyone, whether I agree or not). However, “if you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor”. Here are a thread of my though
1-I am not black. I recognize that while I sympathize with the black community, I will never (fully) understand situations from your perspective, but I try my best to do so.
2-George Floyd was killed, and the officer involved should be charged with at least manslaughter. The other officers should likely be charged for being complicit (I’m not a lawyer, so I don’t know the exact charges)
3-Anger towards this heinous act is justifiable.
*points 1-3 are the foundations of this thread, subsequent points should be read and interpreted keeping points 1-3 in the forefront of your mind*
I will come back later with some additional thoughts for us to ponder when considering our actions moving forward.
