I confirmed Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin is also a licensed real estate agent. I obtained his application, which states he& #39;s a Florida resident, and not a Minnesota resident. Tax records show he and his wife own homes in Oakdale, Minnesota and Windermere, Florida.
Over the last few days, Derek Chauvin& #39;s real estate agent profiles were scrubbed from the internet, and a local real estate broker& #39;s Facebook post welcoming him to the agency has been deleted. His wife is also a real estate agent, and her profiles have also been scrubbed.
Mike Bernier of the Realty Group told me: “He actually was only with us a very, very short period of time,” adding that he has over 500 agents and hadn& #39;t met Chauvin. “His wife was with us for awhile. She left over a year and a half ago.”
Asked if his company& #39;s former agent Derek Chauvin is the Minneapolis Police officer of the same name, Bernier said "it& #39;s the same guy." Chauvin& #39;s real estate license is now inactive.
According to archives I made of Derek Chauvin& #39;s wife& #39;s Instagram and Facebook accounts—now no longer accessible—they run a "VRBO/Airbnb" in the Orlando area. A couple hours before the incident, Chauvin& #39;s wife posted a video with an alligator in it.
Here& #39;s a PDF of Chauvin& #39;s real estate license application data with many of the personal details removed, and my public records request asking for it: https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/6933114/Real-Estate-License-Application-Data-Derek-Chauvin.pdf">https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents...
