I hope as we listen to the reactions of black people during this period, we see and learn the similarities between this and what feminists are always talking about.

As a white person, you can’t come right now and say “Im married to a white cop but he has never killed a black
man, not all cops are bad”
“I’m a white person and I’m not racist, stop generalizing”
“Why are black people angry and bitter? This is why I don’t take the racism accusations serious”.
Also, you can’t be silent. Your silence means something.

Now, I need us to swap this with
instances when sexism & misogyny is being complained about.
“Not all men”
“I’m not like that”
“My husband is not like that”
“Why are feminists angry”
Or your silence on certain issues.

Now, I hope you realize how it sounds. How it has nothing to do with the matter on ground
I hope you now understand that anger is a valid emotion, that you can’t tell an oppressed person how to feel.
‘hoping you realize it’s not about you or your feelings when issues are being discussed.
‘Hoping you realize your reality & experience may be different, but it doesn’t
Negate the reality and experience of a lot of people.

It’s always easier for a lot men to understand racism and not sexism because in one, you’re the oppressed and in the other, you’re told you are the oppressor and this doesn’t sit right with you.
Kind of how it doesn’t sit
Right with white people right now.

I don’t want this thread to be too long but I hope you get the point I’m putting across and I hope you use this period to do some self introspection.
