We asked people to stay away from our beaches for the time being so we can protect local residents, but it seems no one can resist the allure of the salty sea air. Let us explain why we asked people not to visit our beaches...
While a day out at the beach seems like a great idea – if everyone does the same it can get over crowded making it extremely difficult to social distance. Especially, when it's high tide at #cambersands
The Government advice remains to keep 2m between yourself and anyone from outside your own household
We can’t close the car parks because then people park in inconsiderate places
And we can’t close the toilets because, well
So, ask yourself – is the risk of contracting coronavirus and potentially causing a second spike a good enough reason to head to the beach while it’s busy?
We’ve done a quick straw poll in the office and we think, not
Instead, you could, stay home, stay local, find somewhere that isn’t as busy, enjoy the garden if you’re lucky enough to have one, or pick a time of day that won’t be super busy!
Or, you could enjoy some virtual attractions in the area https://www.visit1066country.com/whats-on/virtually-open
That way, hopefully, we will see the back of #Covid19 #lockdown and our beaches and seagulls will be here waiting for you when it’s safe to visit
