True story: one of my best friends that I grew up with went to prison for looting Richer Sounds during the London riots. One thing I can assure you of, when he went into that shop, the last thing he was interested in was sticking it to the system. All he wanted was a new TV.
The way black men in particular are treated in America by Police is despicable, scandalous & outrageous. But looting local stores is neither a proportionate nor rational response. And people, especially outside of the US, really ought to stop attempting to excuse & defend it.
I get the social unrest & I get the outrage. In such circumstances, I even get anger so deep that some would consider violent uprising. But looting & destroying local business doesn’t fall into any of these categories & you are a fool to believe it is done in the name of justice.
Floyd George was a peaceful, law abiding & unarmed citizen who was murdered by the Police. The looters are degenerate thugs, exploiting tragedy in order to help themselves to other people's stuff. It shits all over the legacy of the victim & his family. Please stop defending it.
