The shock that I am experiencing is because I’m surprised that a protest of this scale hasn’t happened sooner. There is going to be a huge backlash from the establishment. If you are white please do everything in your power to help protect your neighbors.

Do not bring the police into your neighborhood. Calling police is a literal death sentence for POC and disabled people. Stop thinking of them as protectors and start thinking about them as serial killers. Stay aware of ICE sweeps, if you hear about it tell your neighbors to stay inside and if you are healthy offer to do errands for them. ICE officers are pretending to be doctors and using force. You need to stay one step ahead for the sake of your community.

The backlash is going to come back hard. Ask yourself about your bias about who deserves justice? Why is this reaction “violence” but historical events like the Boston tea party celebrated? Instead of forking over your neighbors protect them. It’s up to us.
