Incredible television I’ve watched during quarantine that you should all watch:
The Morning Show on Apple TV+ is really strong through. It’s emotional. It’s difficult. It has twists and backstabbing and is beautifully written and performed. Steve Carrell is the perfect version of Matt Lauer - comforting and familiar but disgusting and vile.
The Last Dance on Netflix. I had never been a fan of basketball, still don’t really care about it, but it’s so interesting and fascinating to see the trajectory. Pay no attention to the people that say that the time jumps are confusing, they’re not.
Dickinson on Apple TV+ is so great, I don’t know where to begin. The mix of old and new is so seamlessly blended together. It’s funnier and lighter than you expect it to be and is a delight the entire way through.
Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu (US) / Amazon Prime (UK). Reese Witherspoon nails it again. It’s a heavy show but it grips you from the start and it doesn’t let you go. It’s based on a book and it leaves you wondering and wanting more.
Schitt’s Creek On CBC/Pop TV/Netflix. I have loved this show for years and rarely does a show have a perfect ending and it just gives you everything you want and squeezes your heart and makes you cry because you want the show to never end.
