A Thread on #ACAB in the Philippines
The infamous War on Drugs in the Philippines is an attack on the country's poor. According to official government counts, about 134,583 operations have been conducted with 5,526 deaths. However estimates show that numbers could be 5x higher
Some of the names of those who were killed:

Kian delos Santos, 17
Carl Arnaiz, 19
Reynaldo de Guzman, 14
Jee Ick Joo (kidnapped, extortion, killed)
Kateleen Myca Ulpina, 3 (youngest victim)
The Philippine government allows for it to happen. So much so Duterte said he is willing to kill 3 million drug addicts while comparing himself to Hitler
The War on Drugs does not solve the problem. In fact, almost all victims of the war are those in poverty. Those who are middlemen and not drug lords

While the poor are being exterminated, these cops themselves are re-using the seized drugs and reselling them. These cops are called "ninja cops," only 3 have been placed on trial, but it is unsure whether or not there are more.
Philippine cops are even given cash incentives to kill. According to Amnesty International, cops get paid $161-$302 per kill they make.
There are also so-called "secret jails" which were exposed in 2014 and 2017.

In 2014, a jail in the town of Biñan has 44 inmates who were tortured based on a roulette wheel. Punishments include punches for 20 seconds straight
In 2017, secret jail cells in Manila were uncovered. 12 inmates were found inside a cell behind a bookshelf which is only 5 feet wide with poor ventilation. In order to get out, prisoners had to pay a ransom of $594-$1980
In this year, the former police chief officer has been charged with corruption for failing to account for 163kg of drugs which is worth $517,000. Him and 13 other officers are to be charged with drug offences, bribery and corruption
