In this thread, I talk about what a brand identity is and how to create one. Follow to learn more. #branding
When I say 'Danfo', several things may pop up in your head. Tight seating, crying baby, hustle for the front seat. What about 'Facemask'? It probably makes you remember staying indoors for weeks.
The same goes for well-known brands. Coca-Cola, Apple, Netflix, Facebook etc. all have strong brand identities. #brandidentity
A #brandidentity is what sets your business apart from competitors.

It is “made up of what your brand says, what your values are, how you communicate your product, and what you want people to feel when they interact with it.”
Here is how to create a #brandidentity:

1. Define your proposition – Beyond the product or service, what is the solution you’re providing? What are you helping people solve?
2. Identify your audience – Who are the people you’re solving a problem for? The audience determines what a brand looks or sounds like. #brandidentity
3. Carry out a SWOT analysis – SWOT refers to Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. @Hubspot defines each in the image below.
4. Personality – Brands have personalities, just like people. For instance, @Twitter has a playful vibe. Social media can serve as a great way for brands to show their personality.
5. Distinct brand elements – A defining part of your brand identity is your visual identity which consists of your logo, colours, fonts and templates. There should be cohesiveness and consistency in your branding.
