Today is the day of 'Istanbul-ul-Fetihi'
( Conquest of Constantinople) by
Sultan Mehmed Fatih (Kayser-i-Rum or The New Ceaser of Rome) which Ended 1500 Years Old Roman Empire and laid stronghold of The Ottomans in European Region +

There is a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad SAW;
"Verily You Shall conquer Constantinople, and what a great Leader her leader be and what a wonderful Army will that Army be"

Leading first siege in 670 by Yazid 1 including some Companions of Prophet Muhammad S. But could not succeed +

Sultan Mehmed Gatherd his army of 80,000(+-) when he took the throne of Ottoman Empire from his Father Murad the 2nd at the age of 19, and adverse to all the circumstances he waged a war against the Romans and Conquered it in an almost 2 months ongoing War at the age of 21+

23 Armies had tried and failed including his own father Morad the 2nd+

Let's look at the States involved in the besieging and defense+

The Conquest of Constantinople changed the discourse of History for the next 500 years and proved the might of Cannon Balls against the Long 900 years Standing Great walls of Constantinople, look at the Size of The Cannon+

Let's look at the map of the walls which included 5 layers of walls stretching from lower ground to uphill to a distance of 100 meters (might be more) +

With the city defenses on the land there was also a defensive system held at the river side 'Golden Horn' i.e. the Long Chain Connecting The city and Galata which had saved the city from invading by naval forces through entering into the Golden Horn+

To Overcome this challenge Sultan Mehmed came with a Brilliant and Bold Idea of Crossing the Navy across the land, north of the city of Galata by cutting the trees and rolling the ships over greased trees and directly landing navy into the Golden Horn+

Eventually aftr mny ups and downs and many defections including that of Mehmed's grand Vizier Halil Pasha,and many failures of creating tunnels beneath the walls,Walls reduced to rubbles and City fell to The Ottomans with Emperor Constantine dead+

Here is the Hagia Sophia, The Greek Orthodox Christian Church which converted to a Masjid after fatah and now a museum. It's said that it changed the History of the architecture+

Here is the Blue Mosque of Istanbul or the Sultan Ahmad mosque based on the architecture of Hagia Sophia both being UNESCO World Heritage Site+

And Here is the Sultan Mehmed Fatih.
