Hello hello I’m taking a break from fragrance threads to talk about the @ifxcosmetics Velour Rouge lipsticks 💄

I bought three of them myself during their bundle sale and received three others as PR but this thread is not sponsored and all thoughts and photos are my own ✨
I have six shades in total, three of the VR 1.0 and three VR 2.0.

VR 1.0 as I understand it is IFX’s original velvet-matte formulation while VR 2.0 is l still velvety, but a more traditional type of lipstick that glides a little easier while retaining a semi-matte look
Shade descriptions:
VR 1.0
High-End - berry red
Dreamland - brownish warm mauve
Retro Mood - orangey coral

VR 2.0
1996 - rosy nude
Dang! Gurlll - medium brownish nude
Twitter Sister - warm medium pink
These lipsticks are all medium, warm tones that would look so flattering on almost everybody!

And that packaging is so good and solid and I LOVE that rose gold touch on the inside it’s so classy (bougie....ratchet.....)
High-End (VR 1.0)

I actually really like this shade! It’s such a wearable red that’s not too bright or dark. I usually reserve reds for dinners or events but I could honestly use this shade daily 😍💖
1996 (VR 2.0)

A warm rosy nude that leans more rosy than brown, it’s such a good everyday type of shade that you can even wear as blush if you want to.
Retro Mood (VR 1.0)

This shade surprised me, it’s more orange than I’m used to and is great if you want a little more pop of colour than the usual nudes 😍
Dreamland (VR 1.0)

This shade is slightly deeper than 1996 and one of my favourites!
Dang! Gurlll (VR 2.0)

I like Dreamland but OH BOY I LOVE THIS SHADE the most 😩 I love brownish nude shades and this one is amazing I alternate this with my CT Pillowtalk Medium whenever I go out, it’s that good 😩💕✨
Twitter Sister (VR 2.0)

If you prefer pinkier shades, this is for you! It’s a little lighter and pinker than 1996, and gives such a youthful look to the face.
Between VR 1.0 and VR 2.0, I would say VR 2.0 is more velvety, comfortable and hydrating on the lips compared to VR 1.0, which is more matte.

But I can understand keeping formulation of the darker, more vibrant colours like reds/oranges so that it’s less likely to glide around
VR 2.0 definitely glides easier on the lips and almost feels like a lip balm bc once applied, I don’t feel it on my lips. VR 1.0 is a little drier obv of the matte finish but they’re both v buildable.

They fade evenly throughout the day after food and leave a subtle stain.
I hope they’ll expand the shade range in the future and come out with different tones and shades as some of the existing shades may look similar under certain lighting. Maybe some deeper nudes? More mauves?
If they’re continuing with two different formulations, it might be a good idea to separate them into diff lines in the future to avoid differentiating them solely as VR 1.0 & 2.0. I hope they’ll keep both formulations though as they both offer something slightly different.
I love me some Charlotte Tillbury lipsticks but these IFX ones are honestly very good for RM45 and the myriad of wearable shades.

If you’ve been eyeing them for a while, best believe that they’re definitely worth all the hype 🤩 especially Dang! Gurlll 😌✨
It feels awesome to support a growing local brand that I feel would thrive not because of all the support, but also because of the excellent quality and customer service.

I’m so excited for what’s to come from this brand and I look forward to more great products! 💖💖
