How lies work.

In March 1949 the Israelis reached the southern tip - access to the Red Sea - what is now the town of Eilat.

It was empty apart from an abandoned British police station. To the east was the Jordanian fishing village of Akaba. The Jewish forces raised a flag.
The only time in 1000s of years that this desert became associated with the towns in the north - was when the League of Nations used it as part of the lands for the Mandate - for the recreation of a Jewish homeland - the Ottomans ignored it.
The British had considered not including the entire southern region because it had nowt to do with the Syrian Arabs. It was included was to make the Jewish homeland workable. The only people in it were Beduin - around the area of Ber Sheva. 'Palestine' was a colonial construct.
But that creates a huge problem. It means that when they say 'free palestine' and hold that map aloft - they are taking land that's nowt to do with them and that they never lived in - just to call for the expulsion of all the Jews in the area.
So how do they even claim it? What they do is lie. To occupy all the southern lands - they create a village that never existed and pretend that the abandoned British police station in Eilat was actually a Palestinian town which had people in it. @Zochrot even have a page for it
There is no logic in there being 2 villages. Akaba existed and the only reason a 2nd village would appear would be if the 2 sides were in conflict - like Eilat & Akaba. There is nowt on any map but Aqaba & the entire region is distinct from the Areas in the North (map from 1827)
But this is how the Arab lies works. And you want the killer - that abandoned British police hut - now has over 727 Palestinian refugees associated with it. Hundreds of people taking money from @UNRWA (your tax dollars) to pay for a village that never was.
