ALRIGHT! I’m going to address the elephant in the room.

Everyone’s migrating to priv twt cos they feel like it isn’t safe to tweet about anything kpop after the events of yesterday.

And these are MY THOUGHTS on the entire thing that no one asked for but here’s a thread—
[TW: OPINION]

I don’t think this all wrong
[see pic]
LET ME EXPLAIN

The whole hiding of replies was kind of iffy yes BUT tweeting the tweet itself wasn’t essentially wrong to me

FOR 3 THINGS:

(1) They weren’t even trying to trend the cb? I think it was a genuine reaction
(2) That’s their account. They should be able to tweet what they want. Which leads to my 3rd point.

(3) Just because someone decides to not tweet about blm in their stan twt accnts does not mean they’re not part of the movement. There are other ways to help
Personally, I don’t tweet politics here often. I have my political accnt for my rants there.

Maybe take into consideration that some people have designated accnts for certain topics

and someone not tweeting about blm on STAN mf TWT DOESN’T MEAN they aren’t part of the movement.
don’t assume. you don’t know the person behind these accounts.

you’re not a saint just cause you decided to talk about it here.
I just find it inconsiderate of some people to label other accnts as racist or privileged when maybe they don’t want to talk about it on stan twt

Maybe they don’t want to state their opinion cause they want to learn more before making one ???
Maybe they don’t want to talk about it on twitter AT ALL BUT they sign the petitions, fund the movement, educate themselves, their friends and/or families

maybe they help the movement irl and not post about it on twt
Maybe we shouldn’t assume someone’s motives or reasons irl when you know very little about the person behind the accnt
All I’m trying to say is:

DO NOT FORCE PEOPLE !!!

Try to remember that there are kids here. They probably don’t understand this yet.

HELP THEM UNDERSTAND. DO NOT SHAME THEM. EDUCATE !!!

It doesn’t help anyone.
It doesn’t help the movement.
I’m genuinely sad that I’m seeing tweets of people generalizing carats

Cos carats are sweet. I met good people here. I loved this fandom. I really did.

And to see it crumble under the cancellations and self righteous debates make me immensely sad
TLDR?

(1) Don’t force people to tweet things
(2) Don’t shame people for not tweeting certain things
(3) EDUCATE someone when they’re wrong
(4) DO NOT PUBLICLY HUMILIATE THEM or CONDEM THEM
(5) There are other ways to help blm movement (not just tweeting)
(6) Read thread below https://twitter.com/thumbaiina/status/1009112826890334208">https://twitter.com/thumbaiin...
Anyway, I’m done ranting.

Do with this opinion what you will.

I’m going take a break from stan twitter for a while because this shit is exhausting.
