Been thinking about the scripture that goes into detail about the body of Christ, pointing out that every part has a function and I know it is used to illustrate spiritual gifts but I am thinking about in regards to race.
During a talk about race yesterday hosted by my church, one of the speakers said something along the lines of "We are trying to build nations (countries) and cannot be focusing on tribes (race)".

Revelation 7:9 was used to back the usual unity speech but I see it differently
If anything the scripture in Revelation 7:9, similarly to scripture about acknowledging each part of the body of Christ is about the importance of tribes coming together to make nations.

Whilst it is not about division, we must be careful not to promote erasure of tribes (race).
If God was only interested in nations (countries), then Revelation 7:9 would read differently. It lists nations, tribes, people & languages because all elements are important.
Unity does not come from erasing tribes but from acknowledging how they contribute to the body of Christ
If one part of the body of Christ suffers, the whole body suffers. If one tribe suffers, the whole body suffers.

Unity in Christ is not colour or culturally blind, it is colour and culturally conscious embracing the beauty of what each tribe brings to the table.
We are visibly different colours for a reason. If God was colour blind, He would have created us in a way that suits that. God most definitely sees colour, God sees culturally differences. He is intentional.

It is supposed to aid the body not divide it but it is very relevant
